The American Birkebeiner Ski Race  

The 2008 American Birkebeiner Ski Race — February 21-23. The 51 kilometer race goes through the woods of northwest Wisconsin and finishes on Main Street in Hayward, Wisconsin.  The official website of the Birkie http://www.birkie.org/ contains all the details and results.

The American Birkebeiner is one of only 14 races recognized by the Worldloppet organization.  The Worldloppet organization recognizes no more than one cross country ski race per country.    The other 13 Worldloppet races are listed below in order by date.
